Fall in Jackson Hole
Discover an unforgettable autumn in Jackson Hole.
There is truly nothing like the fall time in Jackson Hole. The crisp, cool air and autumn scenery provides the perfect backdrop for outdoor activities and festivals. Meanwhile, the summer crowds have lessened, prices have dropped, and fall visitors can experience Jackson Hole like a true local.
Enjoy the Outdoors
As the season changes into fall, the colors of Jackson Hole transform from luscious green into warm autumn hues. You’ll be awestruck by the blooming golden aspen trees and vibrant red patches of shrubbery. The fall foliage in the National Parks is certainly a sight to see, especially with the cooler temperatures and smaller crowds than in the summertime. Take advantage of these prime conditions with an outdoor adventure like hiking or fly fishing!
Fall Festivals
Though popular summer events like the Jackson Hole Rodeo and Town Square Shoot Out end in early September, the region's event calendar remains jam-packed entering autumn.
Jackson Hole celebrates the arrival of fall each year with the popular Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. Hosted September 4-15, 2024, this premier cultural festival consists of multiple auctions, conferences, fashion shows and other events featuring nationally-acclaimed artwork, music, cuisine, and wine to celebrate Jackson’s rich history and culture. View and vote on a series of short films during the Manhattan Short Film Festival on October 3 at the Center for the Arts, challenge yourself or cheer on athletes during the Jackson Hole Marathon, Half Marathon or Quarter Marathon on September 28, or stock up on fresh produce and products from local artisans at the Farmers' Market on the Square, held weekly through September. Elsewhere in autumn, sip seasonal suds at Oktoberfest celebrations at local bars and breweries and watch as Jackson Hole embraces its spooky side and fills with costumed trick-or-treaters around Halloween.
